11:00 Sunday Celebration Service. Our January tradition at Unity Athens is to focus on Unity's five basic teachings and discover new ways to use these truths in our lives. This Sunday we look into the fourth principle: "Prayer is creative thinking that heightens the connection with God-Mind and therefore brings forth wisdom, healing, prosperity and everything good." This works beautifully with the first three principles: God is all-good and everywhere present; human beings have the spark of divinity within us; and we create our experiences by the activity of our thinking. So, we can look at prayer as a connection, a type of powerful creative thinking with the Infinite rather than begging and beseeching Spirit to "do something" for us, or "fix us" or others. As Unity co-founder Myrtle Fillmore so beautifully put it, "Sometimes we pray to a God outside of ourselves. It is the God in the midst of us that frees and heals." Rev. Bronte will talk about prayer, its power, its beauty, and its ability to comfort, heal, to renew. We hope you can join us with your presence and/or in consciousness as we think about and practice prayer this Sunday.

Morning Quietude consists of gently guided meditation and often the presence of Reiki healers in a calm, comforting setting with soft music or profound silence. We're looking forward to a winter season of deep centering in Spirit. Join us in our the Meditation Room of our new location from 9:40 to 10:20 for this time of peaceful, contemplative meditation. Love offering basis.
The Tuesday Book Study Group
meets from 1:30 to 3:15 at Unity Athens. It will not meet on Feb. 2, but resumes on Tues., Feb. 9, when we will read and discuss Chapter 3 and start Chapter 4 of THE MILLIONAIRE FROM NAZARETH by Catherine Ponder. This group is held on a love offering basis. The book is for sale in class and in our bookstore.
Wednesday Night Book Study Group has shifted its start date to Jan. 27 from 6:15 to 7:45 and it will run for about 12 weeks at Unity Athens and is reading SPIRITUAL ECONOMICS by Eric Butterworth. In-depth discussions about the book and and the spiritual principles for creating an abundant life will be enhanced by materials from Unity & other sources. Love offering basis. Books are available in class and in our bookstore. This group will not meet on Wed., Feb 3, but resumes on Feb. 10.
EVERY SUNDAY, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm - A COURSE IN MIRACLES m
eets in a classroom at our new location.
Taught by an engaging and insightful facilitator, Drew Smith, this popular class dives deeply into A COURSE, while making the text even more understandable and relevant to daily life. Open to all. If you don't own the book, there's always someone willing to share. Because of the ongoing nature of this class, feel free to stop in as you can, or to participate every Sunday. Love offerings are accepted and appreciated.
Every Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Date Night with Your Higher Self is a meditation/ healing circle, led by spiritual coach & healer, Celia Filla and others. The intention of the circle is to gather like-minded people together with light workers to create a powerhouse for healing. In this healing circle participants will 1) Create the space to experience unconditional love 2) Learn how to heal themselves 3) Remember who we really are and 4) Rise to higher consciousness. We are now meeting in our beautiful new home in the Bells Shopping Center, 995 Hawthorne Avenue, Athens 30606, Suite 105, next to the Project Safe Thrift Store. It's only about a mile from our former location and has a large sanctuary, a generous CommUnity Room, and six other rooms for classes, meetings, and events. We are grateful to the many volunteers & friends who've donated their time, talents & treasure to make this happen. If you'd like to help, please let us know: [email protected]. Directions from our former location at Family Counseling: Turn right out of the driveway. Go 0.7 miles to the Hawthorne intersection (stoplight) and turn left. Go another 0.7 miles to turn into the second entrance to Bells Plaza Shopping Center and go to the side of the center that faces Burger King. We are between the Coin Laundry and Project Safe.
