Need a last minute gift?

You know from many previous newsletters that we promote our village retailers as best we can.  We not only want them to succeed, they also provide us with our most important source of revenue:  sales tax.

The other day I had occasion to stop in at our downtown Treasure Depot, an antique and collectibles shop owned by Laurie Zupansic.  I found a couple of cool items to add to the pile of Christmas presents for my daughter Katie and that gave me an idea that might be useful for you.

Laurie will be open tomorrow, Saturday from 10am to 4pm, Sunday from 10am to 5pm,  and Thursday, December 24, the day before Christmas, from 10am to 5pm.  So if you're running around looking for that last item, you might find it right here in our village, at Treasure Depot, conveniently located on Wadsworth Road next to the historical society.

So, in addition to the convenience, Laurie will give you a whopping 15% discount for mentioning that you're either a Wadsworth resident or that you saw this in our newsletter.

Who knows?  The Treasure Depot might have exactly what you need for that last minute gift.

Our winter event-

The success of our September "Concert in the Park" event prompted suggestions from residents to have a fun event during the winter.  We scratched our heads and came up with this:  A bonfire with your discarded Christmas trees!

Date:  Saturday, January 16, 5:30pm
Where:  Village Hall
Food:  Eddie Bauer catering
For kids:  If snow, the sled hill will be open
Contest:  Coolest winter hats for kids
Who:  This is a family event and you can bring your relatives, friends, and other important hangers-on

In order to make this a BIG bonfire, we need to have a good inventory of your old coniferous seasonal trees, and here's our plan.  You can either drop them off or we can pick them up.

To drop off your tree at the village hall:

*Between December 26 and January 13
*By the sign "Tree Drop" near parking lot

If you need assistance, we can pick up your tree:

*First, contact Administrator Amidei at
*Pickup period January 4 to 13
*Only real trees; no artificial ones
*Remove all ornaments and lights
