Brewster's Beer Garden will soon be a part of the downtown landscape.
Owner Mike Goebel is planning a large restaurant with a beer garden that will include bocce ball court, kids' playground area and a bar. While a Petaluma Beer Garden is still nine months away, Goebel hopes to create a family friendly space with the possibility of adding desert food trucks or coffee carts.

Local Petalumian Michael Eshleman is starting a movement to keep Petaluma's charm by cleaning up the town, returning carts, and sharing his story with other through the popular facebook page "I Love Petaluma". Check out the page and make a change.

3rd Annual Childrens Art Show is on January 7th from 2-4pm. See amazing art by children from Petaluma and surrounding areas with music by the Petaluma Children's Chorus, directed by Elizabeth Roberton. Free admission, donation gladly accepted. 

Start the new year off with a paddle on the peaceful and secluded waters of the Petaluma Marsh! You'll feel like you are entering a whole new world when paddling this hidden gem very close to the town of Petaluma. $90 per person Includes all gear. Two dates: Jan. 9th & Jan. 23rd at 10am.

Contemporary Art Exhibit by Lynn Hennessy at Aqus Cafe, January 11th through March 6th. Opening reception is on Jan. 23rd at 3:00-5:00pm.

Sonoma County's Home Brewers introduces Mojo Chocolate Milk
January 16th at TAPS starting at noon 
On January 16th at TAPS, in River Plaza, get the first taste of Mojo C hocolate Milk Stout starting at noon. Come shake the hands of the brewers and the brewmaster himself Joel Johnson of 101 North, sign up to volunteer at next years Home Brewers Competition, or put your recipe to the test and sign up to be a brewer!
 
Joe Monostori and Jeremiah Konen are home brewers who started their craft while stationed at the U.S. Coast Guard training center in Two Rock.The pair won last May's Sonoma County Home Brewers Competition at the Petaluma Veterans Building with a chocolate milk-flavored stout infused with vanilla beans and coco nibs.Their prize was to spend the day hanging out with the 101 North crew, listening to heavy metal music, tossing around a football and eating pizza, all while brewing their homemade concoction on a large scale.

  2015 City of Lights Driving Tour Winners Announced

Once again the particip ants of the Home Decorating Contests sponsored by the Petaluma Visitors Center went all out in the creativity and sheer quantity of decorations and lights in their holiday displays. Judging is fun, but not necessarily easy, as all the contestants homes are so delightfully decorated.
 
Named first place winner in this year's Home Decorating Contest is the home of Michael Cruchon at 1803 Hartman Lane (#1 on the map). Second place winner is Anthony and Heather Campbell at 5 Wallenberg Way (#16 on the map) and Third Pl ace winner is the Tidwell Family at 1725 Clairmont Court (#6 on the map).
 
Sprouts Farmers Market in the East Washington Place shopping center generously d onated a $100 gift card and $50 gift card to the First and Second place winners.
 
In another category, participants in the City of Lights Business Decorating Contest help Petaluma shine bright with exceptional creativity and originality in their displays.
 
This year's winners are: First Place is a tie with equal points given to Sunrise Senior Living (813 Wood Sorrel Drive) and Armor Locksmith (821 Petaluma Boulevard North); Second Place is Petaluma Pie Company (125 Petaluma Boulevard North) and at just one point behind, Third Place goes to PEP Housing (951 Petaluma Boulevard South) and since it was so close (one point behind PEP) this year we're including Fourth Place, which goes to Petalumen's Lighting Company (741-C Western Avenue).

As for the peoples choice award PEP housing took first as well as the Erin Chlum household! Congratulations!

LumaCON
January 30, 2016 from 10am - 4pm    
LumaCon is a local event organized by the librarians of Petaluma and Casa Grande High School with the goal of providing kids and families with a connection to the professional aspects of storytelling and illustration in the vast world of comics. The event includes meet & greets, costume competitions, LARP games, and a Ma gic tourna ment. Last year's event was a huge success with over 1500 attendees.
