RWF Program in Cuba Wins National Award
In December, the HIV Prevention Team at the Loving Care Home in Varadero, Cuba won the Cuban Prize of National Hope 2015. The prize was award for the annual summer camp the Loving Care Home runs for HIV positive children and children with parent(s) who are HIV positive. This amazing camp is fully funded by RWF.
The camp's many activities include games, art activities, exploring nature, swimming with the dolphins, and relaxing. The children are also provided with psychosocial support and health education. This year the children hosted an HIV health education tent at a nearby shopping center. Hundred of people experienced the impact of these children giving advice and educational information about HIV/AIDS.
