News from the Atria
Dear all,
I was glad when they said to me, let us go to the house of the Lord. - Psalm 122.
It's not EST, its OAT: official atrium time! Looks like Sundays, 9:15am-11:15am, will work for most. Flexible drop off and pick up, if you wish. But we do encourage the full 2 hours. That is easier for some families than others, we know.
We will bring the children in at the Peace. Father Billy will give his children's homily then, so all the kids get to participate, followed by birthday prayers and offertory.
When your child does arrive or leave here, please respect the quiet atmosphere we try to maintain in both atria. It is your child's prayer time. What a gift!

Not Your Average Pancake Supper!
We're talking genuine, Episcopal, Boy Scout made pancakes here, folks. Yes sir! Next Tuesday, Feb. 9th is Mardi Gras, and you know what that means here at ECR -- the annual Pancake Supper. Once you feast on these pancakes, you'll be ready for Lent.
The Scouts will have the griddle all warmed up, the butter, syrup, and sausage ready to go around 5:30 pm, and they'll be serving up some yummy stuff.
Tickets are $3.50 each or $10.00 for the entire family. What a bargain! Word is that Fr. Billy Tweedie has some surprises in store, too, so no telling what's going to happen, but chances are, it will probably involve some music.
Come on out, the kids will love it.

How To Speak Episcopalian
The Good Word this week is
Acclamation
Once the processional is complete, and the priest stands before the congregation he opens the service with a sentence or Opening Acclamation: The current acclamation is:
Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
to which we respond:
And blessed be his kingdom, now and forever, Amen.
The Acclamation changes according to the season, so notice that on Feb. 14th, the first Sunday in Lent, it will change.

A Few Good Samaritans Needed
Some of you may know that there are several folks at the rehabilitation center next door to ECR, who would like to attend the 10:30 Eucharist Service regularly. That requires that someone walk over and push their wheelchair over to the church. We need more volunteers to help our ushers and others. Please see Fr. Billy Tweedie and Mr. Joe Page to assist these lovely people who want to join us in Holy Communion.

Wednesday Bible Study Continues
Wednesday morning Bible Study continues from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Genuine Joe's Coffee House at 2001 W. Anderson Lane. The Bible students have studied a lot of the scripture so far, and will continue on. They have begun their study of the Gospel According to St. Luke.
