Club Interact Needs your Help!
Food Needed to Provide our Blood Donor's a Good Breakfast
Blood Drive
Friday, November 13
Starts at 8:00 am
Donation drop off time: 7:00 am - 7:45 am in Mt. Olympus
Club Interact is responsible for planning and bringing the blood drives to Arcadia. Last year we had many problems with students after their blood was taken (fainting, nausea, feeling sick) because they had not gotten the proper nutrition before-hand.
This year we are inviting our Arcadia Families to help us provide a healthy breakfast for student donors to show our appreciation and also prevent last year's problems and ultimately have a more successful blood drive.
We are still in need of the following:
- 2 Large Boxes of Granola
- 3 Dozen Bagels
- 3 Qts of Berries
- 4 Pints of Plain Yogurt
- 50 sets of plastic silverware
Tips for a positive blood donation experience from the American Red Cross and your Arcadia School Nurse:
Eat a small, healthy low-fat, iron rich meal prior to donation
Drink plenty of water or juice throughout the day
Bring a photo ID or American Red Cross Donor Card
Bring parent consent form
Wear a short-sleeved shirt
Avoid heavy lifting/exercise after donation
Beginning at
12:00am
Friday November 13, students can register for a Rapid Pass by logging on to
http://www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to begin their donation process. This is not required, but recommended.
Any questions, please contact
Tricia Ridder RN, Arcadia High School Nurse
