Dear Dragons,

Check out our new look. The CABC has been diligently working on a new logo and a new website is almost ready and will be seen in the coming days. New sponsors have joined us just in time for a new SLC season to get underway, Check out all the details of this week's sporting calendar.

FOOTBALL:

Football had its one and only bye week of 2015. They are ready to resume the season with one final non-district game, surprise, a tough road match up with a 4-0 Abilene team. The Dragons travel to Shotwell stadium tonight at 7:30pm. Ticket prices at the gate will be $10.00.

Metro Sports is back for their 13th season as the official broadcast home of your Southlake Carroll Dragons. As always Chuck Kelly will provide the play by play with Kelly Milligan providing color commentary. Travis Smith is Mr. Sidelines. The pre game one hour countdown to kickoff will begin at 6:30pm.

VOLLEYBALL:

Lady Dragon Volleyball authored another pair of 7-6A victories, sweeping away both the Buffs from Haltom, 3-0 and the Trojans from Trinity by the same count. They are now 32-3 and a perfect 4-0 in 7-6A where they have not dropped a set.

They remain #1 in the state this week for a 4th consecutive week in the TGCA poll and are #1 in the nation according to the MaxPreps Composite Computer Rankings.

Today the Lady Dragons enjoy their 7-6A bye and take advantage of the opportunity to serve the community. They are pictured below at the American Airlines MaagicFlight gate in an early morning compassionate service opportunity.

Up next they travel on the road to Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday, Sept. 29th at 6:30pm

CROSS COUNTRY:

Cross Country can literally not have a better weekend than the one they just experienced in Corpus as both the Dragons and Lady Dragons perfect scored at the Javelina Invitational.

The Lady Dragons were lead by Tig Archer (17:50), followed by Allison Esparza (17:57), Arianna Lopez (18:05), Sarah Odneal (18:24) & Kayli Jones (18:29).

The Dragons could not be outdone by their female teammates as they also reached perfection. They were led by Charlie Gardner (15:24), Shea Whatley (15:38), Nicholas Fernandes (15:46), Michael Waugh (15:47) & Timou Toure (15:59).

Up next Cross Country takes a week of practice before representing SLC and the state of Texas at the Chili Pepper Festival in Fayetville, Ark. on October 3rd.

TENNIS:

null

Tennis was to have played a mini-tournament last Saturday with El Paso Coronado and perennial state champion Highland Park coming to town. Mother Nature however had other plans. A 6 hour rain delay forced the Highland Park match to be rescheduled for a later date. And the El Paso Coronado match was played resulting in a 14-5 victory. The team is now 10-3 on the year and 3-0 in district which they will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 29th at 4pm. at home vs. LD Bell.
