November 2014 

As Christmas is nearing my thoughts turn to all the children in the ministry, the ones that are there now and the ones that have finished and are no longer there. I wanted to write a few updates to share with you about a few of my grown kids!

 

Diannah, the first girl I took in, is now married to a young man named Chris and they have three children and their own business. They are very happy together. David has graduated from university in Information Systems and Computer Science and is now working in a bank and building websites in his spare time. Bumba is working in the Middle East with the U.S. Troops and enjoys it very much. Harriet & Alice are working in Kampala. Alice is married and Harriet will be at the end of this month. Sarah and Bumba D. have worked with us for some time and Bumba has just begun work on his master's degree. Rogers and Henry have just joined our staff as a Genesis social worker and project manager of our craft business and construction projects. There are so many more and we give thanks to God just to mention a few.

 

Please continue to keep all of our HUM children in your prayers this Christmas season as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, that they might all experience His redemptive love even in the most difficult circumstances. Although we are thrilled to be a source of God's daily provision for these children, our greatest desire is for them to know and grow in Him. Some are dealing with loss, while others live in difficult home circumstances, and some struggle with health concerns. Our recent graduates need prayer as they seek life sustaining employment and that they might strengthen their faith as young adults, becoming Christ-like leaders and role models to their community and to the upcoming sponsored children.

 

We are now planning our Christmas party for the first Friday in December for the children in the ministry and it is always a lot of fun to have some of the older youth who have finished come and help out with all the festivities going on. We have a team from Orphan's Heart, our wonderful partners, arriving the same day that I return and they will share in the fun and much more.
