LANDSCAPE & FORESTRY MASTER PLANS COMMUNITY
WORKSHOPS
Th
e City of Thousand Oaks is updating its 1989 Forestry Master Plan and developing a Landscape Master Plan for City trees and plantings in the public right-of-way.The goal of the project is to incorporate drought-tolerant and water-wise landscaping into public medians and the public right-of-way, while maintaining aesthetic integrity.
Workshops are scheduled to provide residents an opportunity to offer their input and feedback on proposed ideas, and build consensus before finalizing the document for review and approval by the City Council.

LOW-FEE VACCINATION CLINIC AND DOG LICENSING
EVENT
The City of Thousand Oaks and our animal control provider, Los Angeles County
Animal Care and Control, will be conducting a vaccination clinic and dog licensing event on February 6, 2016, from 10:00 am to 12:00pm at City Hall located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.
During the event, pet owners will not be charged the $40 field enforcement fee associated with past due license fees.
To update a license at the event, please bring a rabies certificate, proof of spay or neuter, and renewal notice. A variety of vaccinations will be offered.

THOUSAND OAKS BOULEVARD UTILITY UNDERGROUNDING PROJECT
The Thousand Oaks Boulevard Utility Undergrounding Project, slated to begin construction in March 2016, will remove 48 electrical poles and all associated overhead communication and cable lines along a 1.5-mile portion of Thousand Oaks Boulevard between Duesenberg Drive up to Westlake High School at Via Merida.
The City will be holding a community information meeting on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 6pm in the Oak Room on the 3rd Floor of the Civic Arts Plaza to provide details about the project and answer questions.

US 101/SR 23 PROJECT UPDATE
Crews will reduce lanes along northbound and southbound US 101 throughout the project area, nightly
Sunday through Thursday nights
between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., for the next several weeks. These lane closures are needed as crews work on improvements to the center median. At least one lane along northbound and southbound US 101 will remain open at all times.

2016 AMGEN TOUR OF CALIFORNIA ROUTE ANNOUNCED!
The Amgen Tour of California recently announced this year's route. The scenic 800 mile course will be one of the longest and most challenging in the course's history. With eight stages, the race will begin May 15th and end on May 22nd. For only the second time in Amgen Tour of California history, the course will make its way from south to north, beginning in San Diego and finishing in Sacramento.
Amgen Tour of California will be coming through Thousand Oaks on May 17th during Stage 3 of the course. The challenging Queen Stage will begin in Thousand Oaks and then quickly descend to PCH and through Lake Casitas, Carpinteria and Montecito and will finish in Santa Barbara.
