Yes, it's true, the early bird registration period is over.  I wish there were better news, and that we could have continued those packages.

But on the bright side, the increase is much less than we thought and is only about $50 per person.

The one exception is for registration packages with rooms at the Chateau on the Lake.  We used up our original block of 150 rooms at the Chateau.  But we are pleased that they have added a second block of rooms.

I want to thank Steve Eastis for giving me a little push to set up a special Facebook Group Page.  This is now open for all to use in sharing and communicating about the convention.

Finally, I need to know what we should call oursleves?  Can we come up with one title for all convention attendees?  Read my comments below and let me know your opinion.

Santacerely,

Santa Tim Connaghan

FACEBOOK GROUP PAGE IS NOW SET-UP

Do  you want to talk with others who are going to Discover Santa 2016?

Interested in knowing what others will wear to the Gala Dinner or in the Parade?   Want to share your experiences and photos from the original Discover Santa convention?

Well now you can.  You now have a special FACEBOOK Page where you and other convention attendees can send messages, chat and discuss the convention.

The Group page is:   DS2106 Convention

Looking to Share a ride or a room?  Maybe you want to discuss suggestions on workshops, or ask others when they are arriving in Branson?   This is your group page and where you can discuss anything regarding the convention or even your experience at the last convention.

Santas Steve Eastis and John Chilsom will be helping me Administer the Group.

NOTE:  This is not a group page to discuss politics, your personal business, or your plans for the coming holiday season. It is just to discussing the convention and any convention related subjects.  You can also post photos of what you plan to wear, what you are driving or bringing with you, and if you attended the 2006 Convention, we have an album where you can post some of your old convention photos.
NEW REGISTRATION PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE!

As of Today, we have new registration packages.  Our Early-Bird registration period ended yesterday.

The new packages are almost identical to the old packages, except the prices have gone up a little.  On the average, they are only about $50 more, per person.  The only variable is the package at the Chateau which has been upgraded to Lake View Rooms.

All new Chateau packages will have these rooms. If you got a room from the original package, you can also contact Taunya Lay, at Branson Ticket & Travel, to ask about upgrading to a Lake View Room.

You can view all of the packages on our web site and submit your registration at any time.

Once your registration form is received, Taunya will contact you.  Usually within 48 hours. She will review your registration and work with you in paying for your registration.  If you need, she can work with you in splitting up the payments.

We set up the convention registration knowing full-well that most of the convention attendees would be Seniors and those on controlled or limited income flow.  We do need an initial deposit of $500, but after that you can pay something monthly.  The balance needs to be paid by early spring.  I think it is in February.  Taunya will give you all the details.

By the way, deposits for those not needing a hotel room are much less.

Or Call Taunya at Branson Ticket & Travel 800-432-4202
WHAT DO WE CALL OURSELVES?

Over the past few months, those who are planning on attending the convention have been called by different names.  Some names are:
  • Conventioneers
  • Attendees
  • Delegates
  • Represenatives
  • and even Kringles!
But what do you think?   Let's come up with just one name or title.  We are open to suggestions.  Other than Santas and Mrs. Claus or Holiday Professionals, is there one word or title that we could use to describe or call everyone that is attending?

"Delegates." usually means someone who will be voting.  We are not legislating or voting.  "Represenatives," might mean some of the individuals who represent various Santa groups, but what about everyone else.

"Santas," are just the guys.  "Mrs. Claus'," just the ladies, but what about family members and other holiday professionals that will be attending,

And, we will have chairpersons, vendors, sponsors, celebrities and entertainers.  Those are easy titles.  But what about members of the Santa community.  I am leaning towards "Kringles."  What do you think?

Do you have a suggestion for a name that will apply to everyone?

If you have a suggestion, please let us know.  Send an email to:  Santa@NationalSanta.com with your suggestion/s
