FEBRUARY 2016                   RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA
Lee-Snavely Ring #199 Meeting
SATURDAY, February 6th at 7:00 PM

THEME: Working on That Elusive Effect
For the first part of the year, we want to work on that trick that you've had your eye on. The tough one or t
he really cool one that you want to get just right before you take it out into the world. For the next few months all who wish to participate will take a single trick or effect and perform it. Afterwards, there will be a constructive critique session. What better time to have someone call your flashes and missteps in a friendly, helpful manner than at a gathering of your peers? The following month, there will be a repeat performance and your effect will be further honed. The goal is to present refined performances for our May Family Potluck .

HELP!  CARD MAGICIAN NEEDED
The Magic Youth Group is still searching for one or two accomplished card magicians to oversee the intermediate to advanced card magic classes on a consistent monthly basis. These classes have been discontinued due to the lack of a dedicated mentor or mentor team.

This mentor may set his own schedule to meet with the card kids at either The Magic Corner Magic Shop or prior to the monthly Ring meetings at New Horizons Fellowship.

The General and Beginner Magic Classes are still taught by Skip Way on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, 6:00-8:00 PM at The Magic Corner.

Please contact Skip Way at [email protected] if you are interested in assuming responsibility for the card magic classes.

Hello, Everyone,

We had a nice little group this past Friday in attendance: Virginia O., Don C., Kevin R., Xan I and me. We had some good magical discussions and saw some good magic. Xan did very good presentation of an effect that resembles a poker deal. He had ten card and a spectator was given free choices of his five cards and the magician was left with the remaining five. Still, the magician was the winner. He repeated the effect as the spectator still chose his own/different cards and still ended up with the losing hand. He did an original effect called The Mystery Card. It starts off with a mystery card in Xan's pocket. A spectator selects a card and after some byplay the card is found to be the card in Xan's pocket - a really cool effect. Kevin performed an effect where he caused a quarter to vanish.
