Learn more about the different types of assessment options, and submit your intent to apply.

For a little inspiration, read the American Society for Quality's recent case study on 2014 Baldrige Award recipient St. David's HealthCare.
"Improving a critical performance metric-goal time for ER patients until seen by a doctor-and slashing it by half, is just one example of how St. David's changed its work practices and improved key measures to remain competitive in the market."

Examiner Spotlight:
Tammy Lampro
HSHS Western Division

Tammy Lampro first became involved with Wisconsin Forward Award when she  began a career change as a quality engineer.

"I had never heard of the WFA before, but I was going to be neck-deep in categories 4, 6 and 7. It was a whirlwind trying to understand the Criteria, but once the first application was compiled I was hooked. I started to see how it all wove together. I applied to be an examiner the first chance I got."

Tammy first cycle on the WFA Board of Examiners earned her New Examiner of the Year honors in 2013.  She has served as a WFA Board of Examiners for three cycles since then.
As Director, Performance Improvement for Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire and St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Tammy stays active with the Baldrige Excellence framework even in the examiner "off-season."
"I have been a part of writing two single hospital WFA applications. We achieved Excellence Status on the second application. I am currently part of writing a Baldrige application for that hospital and we are also just beginning the process of writing a Challenger application for the Division."
In the next week WFA Examiner application process will open.  Tammy has this advice for anyone considering serving as an Examiner:
"Trust the process: Wisconsin Center of Performance Excellence has honed the examiner process over the years. The dialogue (be it in electronic or verbal form) is where the value for the applicant is generated. This is also where the value to the new examiner is, by the way. The seemingly endless discussions about the feedback comments can seem to be just an exercise in futility at first, but these discussions are where the examiner team uncovers nuggets of gold for the applicant. Trust the process."

When she is not evaluating or writing an application, Tammy enjoys riding motorcycle, cooking, canning, hanging out with family and friends, so it's no surprise her favorite app or device is her Kitchen-Aid mixer!
You can follow Tammy on social media.  Her  twitter handle is @LamproTammy
Thanks for your service, Tammy!  Enjoy those bike rides.
