Did You Know?
February is American Heart Month!
According to the
Mayo-Clinic: "red wine, in moderation, has long been thought of as heart healthy. . . certain substances in red wine called antioxidants may help prevent heart disease by increasing levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol) and protecting against artery damage."
Cheers to your Health this February!
This Week's featured #RedReflection is from:
Long Cliff Winery
This classic pinot noir is the ultimate red wine for Valentine's day! One of the most widely planted grapes on the Niagara Wine Trail, the "heart-break grape" is difficult to grow in this region, as it's very weather sensitive, but the end product makes it worth the struggle in the vineyard year after year.
This particular vintage yields an earthy aroma that gives way to a palate bursting with pecans and currant! Ideal for pairing with chocolates and rich desserts!
This month, try it at the winery loaded into delicate homemade marshmallows, hand-dipped with love in just the right amount of chocolate, during the Niagara Wine Trail's annual "Be Mine with Wine" event!
On special in February only, take a bottle home for only $12.99
(regularly $18.99 plus tax)
