Holly Morris Works the Rows
Fox5 news personality Holly Morris returns to Great Country Farms this week for a Strawberry Jubilee preview.

On Thursday, May 22, she'll be doing three live spots, including a Diaper Derby segment for which we're recruiting a few fast-crawling Baby Farmers. If you wear diapers and you'd like to be on live TV this week, ask your mom or your dad to email us at [email protected] to let us know that you'll be coming. We'll have complimentary cider doughnuts form Mom and Dad, and souvenir rompers for the little racers. Plan to arrive at the farm by 8:30.

Get Your Picking Fingers Ready. For May 31st
This year's Strawberry Jubilee is a two-weekend extravaganza featuring a tart toss, a pie eating contest, live music, but upicking will have to wait until the second weekend this festival.
Weather out here on the Blue Ridge continues to unseasonably cool, and our berries are ripening slowly, so the second weekend of the Jubilee festival will probably offer better picking than the first. Remember that weather and picking volume will determine how long the fields remain open each day (last year we closed the fields at 11:30am on Saturday), so plan to come early on a weekday next week or on the second weekend for a better picking experience. To keep up with field conditions, follow us on Twitter at  Twitter @TheFarmerSays  and at facebook/greatcountryfarms for up to the minute news.

Be sure to like our facebook and follow us on  Twitter  @TheFarmerSay and @ElmerThePig for the lastest news of the farm.  We appreciate it when you share our link on your page showing your friends how you support local. It helps keep our CSA running strong.
