Staff Highlight: Amy Honigman, Ph.D.,
Sr. Clinical Psychologist, CPS

Amy Honigman, Ph.D , believes strongly in the importance of self-compassion, resilience and learning. She teaches these key principles to the students that meet with her at CPS. Amy has worked at CPS for four years. She enjoys college health because she's able to help young people learn to think for themselves, to be kinder to themselves and to make wiser choices. New Hours @ Tang
 
On January 19 the Tang Center will resume regular spring 2016 hours. We are no longer  open until 7pm on Monday and Tuesday. During regular hours the Tang Center is open on Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm (last Urgent Care check-in  at 5:30pm, CPS closed at 5:30pm). On Saturday Urgent Care and Pharmacy are open from 9am-5pm.  New Sunday hours for Spring semester are 11am-3pm

Please check individual departments for exceptions. For more information on UHS hours and after hours services please refer to the hours page on the UHS website.

Flu Shots @ Tang
 
It's not too late to get your flu shot! 
Flu Shot Clinics are over for the semester, but you can still get the vaccination. Schedule an appointment for your Flu Shot through Allergy/Travel by calling (510) 643-7177 to make an appointment, or, currently enrolled students may schedule through Allergy/Travel online through  eTang patient portal (if not available, please call to schedule).

You're sick. Here's what to do! Symptoms of the flu include: fever/chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle/ body aches, fatigue, and in some cases, vomiting and diarrhea. Here's how to help yourself feel better until you recover.
Good news: The $150 Health Opportunity Fund for Pell Grant and Dream Aid Recipients is back! 
  
The ASUC, UHS Tang Center, Equity and Inclusion, and Student Affairs have collaborated with the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Student Service Fees (CACSSF) to offer a one-time pool of funds to help offset charges at the Tang Center during Spring and Summer 2016 for Undergraduate Pell Grant or Dream Aid recipients.  The Health Opportunity Fund (HOF) covers up to $150 for  any services  at the Tang Center, including  Pharmacy  prescription and over-the-counter items (excluding Optometry). Ship Waiver 2016 Final Deadline
The Spring 2016 waiver period ended January 10, 2016. All waivers received from now until February 5 will be subject to a late fee of $50. (Note: Fall Waivers cover the Spring semester.)

No waivers will be accepted after February 5. More information on SHIP waivers can be found here.

Free Rapid HIV Testing for Students
The  Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP) will be providing free rapid HIV testing for Cal students in a safe, confidential space in Health Promotion, 2nd floor of the Tang Center. Results are available in 30 minutes. The first testing this semester is on Friday, Jan. 29 from noon to 3pm. Check here for more dates and times.
