BULLDOG BROADCAST

ONE GOAL...ONE PURPOSE...STUDENT SUCCESS
THEME:  TOGETHER...WE ARE TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents, Students, Faculty, & Staff:
We have started this semester with many exciting projects!  I want everyone to know how thankful I am for all the work and dedication I see throughout the district. The EISD staff kicked off January with a lot of energy and excitement! As I visited campuses, I was thrilled to see the students eager to learn and engaged in the learning process.
I know February will bring about continued dedication from everyone.  We will continue to have a positive outlook on the success this semester will bring. We know based on previous success that the hard work exhibited by all will truly payoff in the end.
On another note, during this time of the school year we often deal with inclement weather conditions. Safety is our number one priority in deciding whether to close schools which is based on several factors. When inclement weather is forecast always pay close attention to the local media outlets and social media sites for the latest news.
As always we are looking forward to another successful month of taking it to the next level!
Sincerely,
Curtis Amos

EVERMAN HIGH SCHOOL
KEY CLUB
The Everman High School   Key   Club  has done it again!  Every year,   Key Club  International, allows  a club  to submit a grant proposal for service projects that they are a part of. This year, our   club  decided to submit a proposal for the after school program that takes place every Tuesday and Thursday across the street at the Everman Methodist Church. Our   club  has been partnering with the program since we were chartered as an official   Key   Club  last March.  We were notified this past week that we were approved for $500 in grant money to help sustain the after school program.  Special thanks to Karina Gutierrez, who initiated the grant; Ivan Palacios and Merlyn Chavarria who have been the face of the after school service project for the past year.
Mr. Juan Castaneda

GOODWILL FINANCIAL LITERACY PROJECT
This year, Everman High School has benefited from a Financial Literacy class sponsored by Frost Bank. In a collaborative effort, a literacy project has been created in which students will be able to practice real world application of the lessons they have learned about financial literacy.
EHS have partnered with "The Goodwill Store" and they have agreed to open their doors to our students! Students will be provided with a budget, shopping opportunities and a task of finding an outfit suitable for a professional setting. The event will take place on February 3rd After their shopping experience, students will make a presentation in which they shared what they have learned & how budgeting and financial literacy could impact their thinking & their future.
