Business After Hours
The February Business After Hours will be hosted by Patterson Elementary on February 4 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The faculty and staff of PES are excited to show you their newly remodeled facility and celebrate the completion of this much needed expansion. Patterson Elementary is located at 3414 Drawdy Road in Patterson.  See you on February 4th!
Welcome MBFB
Approximately 200 well-wishers turned out for the Open House and Ribbon Cutting for Mike Burch Ford during the Chamber's January Business After Hours.

Guests enjoyed music by Mike Johnson, food by Bocca Catering, and tours of the state of the art facility. We officially welcome Mike Burch to the community and wish him much success in Pierce County.
Community Development Day
The City of Blackshear's Main Street Program and the Pierce County Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Community Development Day on March 3 at Lakeview Golf Course.

Registration begins at 10:30, and the session will end at 4:30. Lunch will be served. All elected officials, school system administrators, authorities, and other community leaders are encouraged to attend this vital community-wide economic summit. Registration is required. For more information, contact the Chamber or the Main Street Program. Be a part of Pierce County's progress.
Fashion Extravaganza
If you haven't heard, Eagle Station and the Pierce County Chamber hosted a fabulous Fashion Extravaganza on January 30!

The fashion and trade show featured bridal and evening wear, the latest in hair and makeup, beautiful floral and venue designs, and tasty treats from area caterers. It was a magical evening at Eagle Station. Shop local for all your wedding and prom needs!
Small Business Development
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers access to confidential, no-cost, one-on-one professional business consulting for Georgia small business owners who want to grow or start their business.

The SBDC consultants have earned advanced degrees in business or management and have extensive practical experience to help both emerging and growing businesses design strategies to make better business decisions and reach their goals. The consulting expertise focuses on areas that are vital to accelerating the growth of businesses. Some of these areas are: marketing, strategic planning, commercialization, capital access, financial analysis and accounting assistance, international trade, minority/women business, procurement, and business management. Call the Chamber for more information.
Government Day
January 21 was Government Day for the Leadership Pierce Class. Participants spent the day learning how our local government is formed and how it operates. The class participants got a good overview of the forms of local government - who does what, where and how they get their authority, the budgeting process, chain of command, department head/functions/locations/contact information and duties/responsibilities - the whole works!

We owe a big "thank you" to Paul Christian, Amy Hitt, and all the folks at the County offices for hosting this monumental event. We appreciate the Pierce County Commission, the Cities of Blackshear and Patterson, Sheriff Ramsey Bennett, Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright, and the dedicated department heads for spending the morning educating our leaders. Collaboration is the key to our community's success.
