Delta Expands International Service:

Nonstop Paris Flight Goes Daily For Entire Season May 1 - Oct. 29

Nonstop Paris Flight Offered Daily May 1 - October 29

After seven successful years of nonstop transatlantic service from Pittsburgh International Airport to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, Delta Air Lines is once again expanding international service for the flight's eighth year.

Delta will offer daily nonstop service to Paris starting May 1 through Oct. 29, 2016. Not only has the flight's frequency increased this year, but May 1 also represents an earlier start for the season.

Nonstop Pittsburgh to Paris is the fastest way to get to Europe and beyond. The service helps travelers avoid the busiest and most congested U.S. East Coast gateways. Flights will feature amenities including lie-flat seating, Westin bedding, Delta Studio entertainment, power at every seat, Tumi amenity kits and fine dining options in the Delta One business class cabin on the aircraft to make traveling abroad more comfortable.

Pittsburgh International Airport is equipped with TSA PreCheck lanes for departing passengers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Global Entry Kiosks for faster international re-entry processing.

Passenger Traffic Increasing as More Take Advantage of New Nonstop Flights

Traffic Up 1.6 Percent in 2015; More Than 8 Million Fly PIT

Boosted by increases on nearly every carrier, passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport surged 7 percent in November as compared to November 2014.  November 2015 saw the fastest monthly growth since February 2011, and was also the busiest November since 2010.

Carriers including Allegiant, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, Air Canada, Sun Air Express and Porter saw increases of more than 8 percent due to new flights, additional seats and the improving market.

"This kind of growth in traffic and new flights over last year across nearly all carriers demonstrates that our market has been underserved," Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis said. "Allegiant's rapid growth is evidence that our costs and fees are very competitive."

Combined enplaned and deplaned traffic for November 2015 totaled 685,217 passengers, a 7 percent increase over November 2014, which had 640,620 total passengers. Year-to-date, total airport passenger traffic is up 1.6 percent.

Pittsburgh International Airport serves 52 airports nonstop with an average of 171 weekday departures and more than 14,000 available seats on 12 carriers.

FAA Introduces New Regulations for Unmanned Aircraft Systems:

Fly Safe with Your Drone

Know the Rules, Register, Download the App
When you fly your drone anywhere in the nation's airspace, you automatically become part of the U.S. aviation system. Under the law, your drone is an aircraft, and you have the responsibility to operate safely, just as a Cessna or 747 pilot does.

The Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Small Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) registry is now live and ready for UAS owners to use at www.faa.gov/uas/registration.

All aircraft weighing less than 55 pounds (approx. 25 kilograms), including payloads such as on-board cameras, must be registered.

Remember these general rules when you fly:
* Fly below 400 feet altitude.
* Keep your unmanned aircraft in sight at all times.
* Never fly near manned aircraft, especially near airports (within 5 miles).
* Never fly over groups of people, stadiums or sporting events.
* Never fly near emergency response efforts.

The FAA has also released a smartphone app that can help users understand restrictions around flying their devices. B4UFLY tells users about current or upcoming requirements and restrictions in areas of the National Airspace System (NAS).
