MusicFest Media Lounge "On Air"  Presented by Dosey Doe

The new  participant's media room allows MusicFesters to experience (and possible interact with) your favorite artists during interviews with a variety of media outlets including international and national radio hosts, television, and social media. In addition to enjoying interviews (with performances), some shows will be performances only and the artists may take questions from the audience. With behind the scenes experiences like this, it remains true that there's no other festival like The MusicFest.

This "NEW" MusicFest venue is almost 100 years old and will present some of MusicFest's finest shows, which is fitting for such a historic location. There's nothing quite like a vintage theater that was built for acoustics. With authentic "theater" seating, these shows are specialty crafted for such a classic stage. You haven't experienced Steamboat until you've experienced Downtown Steamboat. Expect a very exclusive and special musical experience.

MusicFest Artists' Tribute to a Legend: Joe Ely
Thursday, Jan 7th | Doors at 2pm |  The Grand Ballroom

Dickson Productions and the Center for Texas Music History  are very excite d to have Joe Ely as the 2016 MusicFest Tribute Artist! This January artists and fans alike will gather together in Steamboat to honor the many incredible accomplishments of prolific songwriter and Texas native, Joe Ely. This tribute concert will give other artists the unique opportunity to express how Ely's music has influenced them personally and professionally as they perform their own renditions of his music. Joe Ely's boundary-blurring blend of rock, country, blues and folk defines the sound that is Texas music. Over a career that spans some four decades, he's been embraced as a kindred spirit by artists as diverse as Bruce Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt and the Clash. The tribute will be followed by a very special acoustic performance by Mr. Ely himself.

Texas Music Scene All-Star Jam and Filming

Texas Music Scene with Ray Benson, Jack Ingram and an amazing all-star lineup (plus a full band performance by Paul Thorn) will be filming a special music feature at the Sheraton Ballroom this year. With hosts Jack Ingram and Ray Benson, this All-Star Jam is sure to be an incredible evening. The Texas Music Scene is a top-rated television series, celebrating the unique music created in the Lone Star State with a focus on country, Americana, folk and blues artists. Texas Music Scene has been a supporter of The MusicFest for years and we are very excited to have them film this special segment in the Sheraton Ballroom. 

The show will air across the U.S.A. at a later date.
Jonathan Tyler's Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd

Last year, Jonathan Tyler blew away the MusicFest community with a show dedicated to the Rolling Stones. Back by popular demand, Jonathan Tyler will be paying homage to one of the greatest southern rock bands of all time - Lynyrd Skynyrd. Widely regarded as a cultural icon of the South, Lynyrd Skynyrd's music has influenced rock n' roll and country music in a way comparable to few. Jonathan Tyler, along with a few friends, will come together to honor a band that has not only impacted them personally, but forever changed the face of southern music. Get ready to hear iconic southern rock like never before as Jonathan Tyler breathes new life into these rock n' roll classics.

Nothing Shines Like Neon unless it's neon bouncing off the snowy Rockies. Randy Rogers Band will be celebrating the release of their new album, Nothing Shines Like Neon, with YOU, first rattle out of the MusicFest box. Shake off the jet lag and the first morning's hangover with an "exclusive listen" to the album and a Bloody Mary bar. The band will be on hand to meet and greet (and maybe even play a tune or two). What better way to kick off your week in Steamboat?

Official release date is January 15th, but the album will be available for pre-purchase throughout MusicFest at the General Store.

After nearly 15 years since his last studio album, the wait is finally over! Dub Miller will be celebrating the release of his new album,  The Midnight Ambassador , in Steamboat this year with a special performance at the Dung Beetle Saloon.  The Midnight Ambassador
features twelve songs of new material all written by Dub. Dub Miller has been a staple in the MusicFest lineup for 12 years, and his debut album,  American Troubadour , has long been considered a Texas country classic. Don't miss what is sure to be an unforgettable and special performance at MusicFest 2016!

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Get ready to "let the good times roll" in Steamboat this year! Bayou Roux will help bring in the "official start" of the Mardi Gras season on January 6th, also known as "Epiphany" (check out the official MusicFest program for the Story of Mardi Gras and the importance of January 6th). This Cajun rock band is bringing the unique sound that they like to call the "Cajun Commotion™" to the Rocky Mountains for celebration that will make it seem like it's snowing in the French Quarter! A pinch of rock, a scoop of county and a heapin' helpin' of down-home Cajun/Zydeco heritage heated to the boiling point will make for a musical experience like no other. Get dressed and ready to "Ski Mardi Gras!" Beads and all! Cheers!

Not only will we learn a bit about Texas' most famous beer, but songwriter and fiddle player Doug Moreland and his band will perform during the tastings. So stop by for some good music, great beer, a little beer education and an exceptional time!

Dickson Productions is pleased to inform you that Steamboat will be open for Night Skiing, good for ALL MusicFest participants (included in your package for free) on January 5th, 8th, 9th & 10th. Night lift tickets will be pre-loaded onto your QuickTrax RFID Lift Card. You can head straight to the Christy Peak Express to enjoy night skiing. Limit one ticket per day, per MusicFest wristband. This ticket is non-transferable and non-refundable. Lift tickets may not be bartered or sold.

The "hour" will include music videos playing on the Jumbotrons, bartenders ready to serve and plenty of MusicFest attendees ready to continue their good time!
