Happy National Mentoring Month!
In January 2016, National Mentoring Month will mark its 15th year as a large-scale public awareness campaign, which culminates with the annual National Mentoring Summit.

National Mentoring Month provides an opportunity to celebrate and honor the importance of quality mentoring programs and the role that mentors fill while also recruiting new supporters and volunteers.

We would like to take this time to thank all of our Bigs for everything they do for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Their support and generosity has a huge impact on our community.  Having a mentor empowers young people to make smart choices that put them on a path to making better life decisions.  We sincerely thank all of our Bigs for everything they do!

GIRLS RULE

Girls RULE (Respect, Unity, Leadership, Empowerment), is a new female-only initiative that seeks to work with our female matches in the areas of self-awareness, making healthy choices, and creating a healthy body and mind.  The activities shared within Girls RULE look to enrich and enhance the mentoring relationships between each individual match, as well as create bonds between the female matches in general to promote more resources and support for the girls we serve. We hope to make these activities monthly.

New Horizons will be addressing issues related to bullying and domestic violence including interactive activities and a craft.
