April - A Time For New Beginnings

Easter is always a special time for me. I use it as a time of reflection. I try to be very intentional about letting go of negative things that bog me down: negative thoughts, grudges, bad habits...I try to make room for new birth, new beginnings of all those things I want to become: positive, grateful, patient, kind. I am a work in progress.

This Easter was particularly special to me...my oldest "baby" turned 13. He's a sweet guy, but hard for me to understand - so somber, so pensive, so quiet, wise beyond his years...so unlike me. We talked a lot about the man he is becoming, the big life that lies ahead of him. When I actually take the time to quietly observe him, I learn so much more from him than I could ever hope to teach.

I am old, striving to become new...

And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true." Revelation 21:5
