Cardboard Boat Race
It'll Be a Red Green Boating Dream

Okay, so you won't be able to use as many "materials" as crafty "Red Green" used in constructing his infamous " Ductwork Boat," but the handyman's innovative approach is sure to snag 1st Place honours for someone at the annual Cardboard Boat Race this Saturday!

Boat building begins at 10am, followed by a hotdog lunch at noon, and race commencement at 1pm.

Do Fish Fart?

For the past two years, the Ladies of the Lake have been gathering kids' questions about Lake Simcoe, water, and life in the watershed. Can seagulls get sunburned? Are there snakes on Snake Island? And yes - Do fish fart?

Loaded with illustrations, photos and maps, their new book for kids 7 to 12 promises to fascinate, amaze and inform as it tackles ecology, science, history, technological and social innovation, urban planning, plants, fish and animals, geography and lore. It even tackles what it'll take to help our lake meet goals for full recovery.

Operation Dry Water Increased Police Presence on Long Weekend

During the 3rd annual Operation Dry Water, August 2 to 4, marine enforcement will saturate high traffic areas on the water, intensifying efforts to detect and apprehend boat operators operating under the influence of alcohol.

Open alcohol containers are only allowed on boats designed to be "residences," with sleeping facilities, a head, and cooking facilities. Drinking is only allowed when that boat is at anchor, docked or hard aground; never while underway.

Danger!
Portable Fuel is Dangerous & Prohibited on Grounds

Carrying fuel onto Lefroy Harbour/Kon Tiki property to refuel your boat automatically forfeits your marina storage agreement.

This important provision in your agreement is due to the extremely volatile nature of gasoline and diesel fuel, and the protection of our environment; breaching it can result in severe fines.

A reminder also that ethanol fuel purchased from highway gas stations can cause severe damage to your boat engine or outboard motor. The Lefroy Harbour Gas Dock provides non-ethanol fuel.
