Get out for Open Farm Day on Sunday


Three Chamber members will represent our area in this year's Open Farm Day  on Sunday :
Frinklepod Farms in Arundel, Pamelamas in Arundel, and Harris Farm in Dayton.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Frinklepod Farm, 244 Log Cabin Road in Arundel, Noah Wentworth and Flora Brown will host free farm tours, food tastings, and activities. www.frinklepodfarm.org.


 

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harris Farm, 262 Buzzell Road in Dayton, Clint and Rachel Harris will offer up informational hayride tours and serve "Lunch on the Land" in the back meadow. Lunch includes farm-raised burgers, corn, milk, homemade salsas and desserts. www.harrisfarm.com.


 

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pamelamas Alpacas & Farm Store, 233 Limerick Road in Arundel, Pam will open her farm of 20 alpacas and store that sells her own spun wool products such as socks, gloves, mittens, hats, rugs. The Southern Maine Guild of Spinners and Weavers will provide demos, and children may visit the animals. www.pamelamas.com.


 



Kennebunk Rotary gala to celebrate club's 90 years


KENNEBUNK - The Kennebunk Rotary Club celebrates 90 years of service to our community with a gala celebration from  5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Waterhouse Center. The special evening will include antique and classic car show and live music. Throughout the night, enjoy food from local food trucks, the Kennebunk Inn, Boulangerie A Proper Bakery and others nearby. Joe Foster will emcee the evening and introduce notable Rotarians, and Video Creations will present a new highlights video on the Kennebunk Rotary Club.

The night will follow this schedule:
5 p.m.: View antique and classic cars
5-6:30 p.m.: Music by 207, a Kennebunk High School jazz band
6:50 p.m.: "Spectator's Choice" car trophy presentation
7- 10 p.m.: Dance to the Chris Humphrey Big Band, featuring tunes from the 1930s to 1960s

Twenty-five antique and classic cars from the 1920s to the 1980s have been selected for this unique show to highlight not only the days gone by, but how 1925 Rotarians once got to Rotary meetings.

Admission is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, and period costumes are encouraged.

White Columns at Night

Kick off the weekend with a glass of wine, refreshments and a tour of White Columns and the First Families Museum. Meet at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 a person, free to members. This special event continues every Friday night for the month of July.

 

A show like no other

"Maine. As they see it" will run at Maine Art Shows, 10 Chase Hill Road in Kennebunk, through Aug. 6. All are welcome to stop in and experience this work first-hand. As always, the show is online.

 

 

 

Sally's back at the Ogunquit Playhouse!

 

The Ogunquit Playhouse presents "Nice Work If You Can Get It" through Aug. 15, starring Sally Struthers and Valerie Harper. Show time is 8 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 8:30 p.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Sundays.
