Dedication
Meleny and her youngest

Congratulations to Melanie Gutierrez and her beautiful daughters! We did it! We celebrated their home dedication with volunteers and staffers on Wednesday, November 18th at 9 am in Ellendale. As is our HFH family tradition, we presented them with a signed bible and symbolic gold key, a framed homeowner's prayer, and gifts from the ReStore. The Gutierrez family becomes our third Habitat partner family to move into the Ingram Village subdivision. Settlement is just days away! They'll be home for the holidays! We wish them all the best in their new place.
Thank You
Thanks, Meineke!
Thank you, Dave Repass of Meineke Car Care Center in Lewes. Dave and his crew completed 212 oil changes on Veterans' Day to honor all Vets and benefit our 2015 Vet Build.

VFW 2931  barbecued  delicious chicken, and Fins Ale House and Raw Bar prepared delectable dishes. The food was sold while customers waited for their oil change as part of the benefit, and like the oil changes, offered FREE to all Vets!
Thanks, Fins!

Thank you to Home Depot, VFW 2931, Fins Ale Hou se and Raw Bar Volunteers, AmeriCorps Members, Habitat Staffers, the Gonzalez Family, and all who served on-site at Georgetown Point during our 2015 Vet Build! We hope to see you all at the Home Dedication!
Thank You, Home Depot! Awesome Job!

Nancy Greene
Programs Manager
accepting th e challenge of building an AmeriCorps team to make a difference in Sussex County.  Under her direction the team has grown from 6 members to a state-wide Habitat-AmeriCorps team. This year we have 15 AmeriCorps members serving at  Sussex County  Habitat alone with more serving in Kent and New Castle Counties.

"How can you not love working with people who give a year of their life to serve others?" Nancy says of AmeriCorps.  "The past five year's growth at SCHFH has been humbling, and the contributions of AmeriCorps members can clearly be seen in every department." And so can Nancy's servant-leadership.

Thanks, Nancy! We appreciate you!

Nancy is still looking for a Site Volunteer Coordinator and a Repair Program Associate. If you are interested in serving with AmeriCorps for Fiscal Year 15-16, contact her ASAP at 302-855-1153 x205.
