VWC in the Media  
A photo of VWC Professor of Biology Victor Townsend and AP biology students from Green Run High School appeared in the Dec. 24 issue of the Virginia Beach Beacon. The students visited the College Nov. 5 to study microscopy and participate in lab activities. Norfolk police recruits, including 2012 VWC graduate Nicole Martinez, toured the Virginia Holocaust Museum in December. Martinez was quoted in a Dec. 29 Virginian-Pilot article about the visit, sharing her reaction to the experience. Violinist Kirsty Green, an applied music specialist at Virginia Wesleyan and a member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, was featured in a December 2015 Tidewater Women article titled "Changing Lives with Music." Batten Professor of Social Work Ben Dobrin and his fellow volunteers were featured in a Jan. 6 segment on WVEC Channel 13 for their work with the Virginia Beach EMS Marine Rescue Dive Team.

Eighth Class of Athletic Hall of Fame to be Inducted February 13
Virginia Wesleyan College will induct the eighth class of its Athletic Hall of Fame during a special ceremony on Saturday, February 13.

Members of the eighth class represent the best of the best from Virginia Wesleyan's athletic history. The six inductees for 2016 are: Kevin J. Flanagan '04--Baseball (1996-99), Lawrence D. Hultgren--NCAA Faculty Representative, Jacquelyn Griffin Koch '04--Field Hockey (2000-04), Anna Bowers Ratcliff '93--Softball (1990-93), Samuel B. Snow '77--Men's Soccer (1973-77), and Laura E. Wallace '06--Women's Lacrosse (2002-06).

Established in March 2008, the Athletic Hall of Fame honors those who, by outstanding achievement in athletics, by service to athletics, or through significant contributions to athletics, have made lasting contributions to Virginia Wesleyan College's intercollegiate athletic program.

Members of the eighth class will be permanently recognized in the Athletic Hall of Fame installation, located adjacent to the entrance of the Jane P. Batten Student Center. Join us at the induction luncheon to recognize these Marlin athletic accomplishments and to reminisce with alumni and coaches. Registration is required; cost is $45 per person.
