WSU Ventures awards funding to student, staff technologies
Students Linh Vu, Travis Vo and Brandon Bartlett, shown here during the Shocker New Venture Competition,were awarded $600 through the WSU Ventures Innovation Fund Award for their Wearable Remote Health Monitoring technology.


 

WSU Ventures has awarded seed funding for three university projects through a new Innovation Fund established with the WSU Foundation. Awards were given to:

  • Brian Brown: $2,000 for Advanced alternative industrial robot manipulation
  • Jeremy Sendall: $1,000 for My Green Thumb
  • Linh Vu, Travis Vo and Brandon Bartlett: $600 for Wearable Remote Health Monitoring. Read more...
U.S. Economic Development Association visits Wichita State labs

Representatives from the U.S. Economic Development Association visited Wichita State University laboratories on July 8 to view progress on the Multi-Robotic Additive Manufacturing Lab and Innovation Campus and provide updates on the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership. Matt Erskine, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development and Chief Operating Officer for the Economic Development Administration, announced a $1 million grant that will provide funding for Innovation Campus infrastructure. President Bardo and Mayor Jeff Longwell were in attendance along with local business leaders.

New business opportunities created at 2015 Kansas Procurement Conference

The 2015 Kansas Procurement Conference on June 11 facilitated 198 meetings and created new opportunities between corporate and governmental buyers and 74 Kansas suppliers. WSU Ventures co-sponsored the conference and made many valuable contacts and introductions.
