Navigating Change

Life is a continual invitation to skillfully navigate the ebbs and flows of our human journey. We see it across the globe in the recent events plaguing the European and Greek markets; we see it close to home with our children developing and with our parents aging; we see it at our places of employment and volunteer organizations. None of us are immune to change. Surprisingly, there is a small percentage of the population that thrives on change.

If you are not one of the small percent, the question we welcome is: how do we move in this hectic time and space with generosity, competence, skill and meaning? One answer comes from this month's article in MoneyMoves, "Right Colored Glasses".  In this message, Gayle invites us to welcome change, and any aspect of life, seeing through right colored glasses. Instead of looking for what's wrong about the situation, see what is right. Summer is the perfect time to practice seeing from the perspective of this is the right experience.

When you call our offices, you will hear the friendly and helpful voice of our summer intern, Ben Schofield. Ben is a rising Junior at Emory University, pursuing a double major in Finance and Spanish, and a lifelong resident of Carlisle. His contributions are valuable to our mission of impeccable client service. Please join us in welcoming his energy and contributions. Ben will be with us until he returns to school in the fall.

Life Satisfaction and Economic Growth

You're probably tired of hearing about the Greek debt crisis, but sometimes it helps to connect the abstract with the concrete-that is, the huge numbers involved with the actual lives of the people living in the country...

The First Question to Ask Everyone

Suppose you truly want to connect with other people.  What's your best strategy?

Most of us start off with questions like: what do you do for a living?  And: where did you grow up?  We ask for facts and then try to extrapolate a living person around the data that we gather.  But that doesn't tell us who that other person is, and it represents polite conversation rather than a genuine attempt to connect.  Research shows that connecting with people is far more valuable than gathering data on them.  It's also more interesting.
