Sisterhood's Women's  Tu BiSh'vat Seder
Sunday, January 24, 6:00 pm

Tu BiSh'vat is the holiday that marks the beginning of a "New Year for Trees."  This is the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle.  We will drink the fruit of the vine and nourish our bodies with fruits and nuts symbolizing strength, creation, rebirth, and our spiritual and emotional ties with the Earth.

A light vegetarian supper will be served at Sharon Sobel's home: 8 Old Farm Road  in Wilton . Cost is $18.00 for Sisterhood members, $23.00 for guests.  RSVP using the form here. Questions to: [email protected]   by January 19th.
Refugee Resettlement - Be Part of the Solution!

TBC participates as a member of WI-ACT, Wilton Interfaith Action Committee, including projects such as the Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. About six years ago, WI-ACT resettled a refugee Iraqi family that is doing well and living in Stamford.

In response to the increased need, the WI-ACT Steering Committee has decided to resettle another refugee family through the nonprofit Integrated Refugee & Immigration Services (IRIS) headquartered in New Haven. Read more and get involved!

Update on Stop Hunger Now: 135,000 Meals Shipped to Haiti!

135,000 of the meals that we and others packaged as part of the Stop Hunger Now event on October 24 have now been shipped to Haiti.  They will be distributed  through Convoy of Hope, an organization that has served more than 55 million people throughout the world through international children feeding initiatives, community outreach, disaster response and partner resourcing. The programs being implemented in Haiti are aimed not just at survival, but also at long-term sustainability with such things as the development of tilapia farms and the implementation of other skills-training programs.
