The Purdue Wine Grape Team is now offering you an opportunity to listen in on some of the lectures of our Purdue upper level class FS 506 Commercial Grape and Wine Production. The class was designed for undergraduate seniors and graduate students who are interested in pursuing a career in the wine industry. I hope that it can also provide you and your winery staff with a scientific perspective on the principles and practices of professional winemaking.
The two-hour lectures will be narrated PowerPoint presentations using the Cisco WebEx platform. Please click on the lecture title below to stream the video to your computer, tablet, or phone.
This is our first test using this new distance learning platform, and if you find it useful (
mailto:[email protected]), we could produce some of our Extension classes in this format, including live lectures with audience participation.
REMINDER: The
PWGT Fall Workshop is coming up on Thursday, September 24. It is designed for commercial growers and winemakers, and will provide an update on best harvest practices in the vineyard and winery. We will discuss topics ranging from post-harvest vineyard management to yeast nutrition and acidity adjustments, as well as pre-holiday marketing strategies.
Cheers,
