Teen Talk Book Club
Saturday, January 9, 12 noon - 1:15 pm 
  
Cresskill patrons in grades 6 to 8 are invited to join the Club and enjoy the excitement of discussing a good book! Meetings include having a snack and doing a craft. Drop in during the month of January to pick up a copy of the book for February.
Read to Dogs
  Saturday, January 9, 1 - 2:30pm
  
Children in Kindergarten to 5th grade are invited to come in and read to the Therapy Dogs of New Jersey. This program is designed to help improve literacy skills and build confidence by reading one on one to these trained, gentle, nonjudgmental listeners. Participants can bring a favorite book from home or choose something from the library collection. The session lasts up to 20 minutes. The dogs are accompanied by an adult owner.  
Toddler Time
Thursday, January 14 & 28, 10-11 am
  
Toddler Time members will meet for an hour of fun.  Activities include crafts, music, free play and  reading a story.The program is currently full. Contact the Library if you would like to be added to the waiting list. Toddler Time is for children up to 30 months of age with a parent or caregiver.  
Author Visit - John Muciaccia
                                      Thursday, January 14 at 7 pm     
                       
Dr. John Muciaccia will share the experiences of the afterlife and spirit at Cresskill Public Library. In his new book Spirit Lives!, Dr, Muciaccia answers the questions like - 'What happens to me or my loved ones after we die?' He shares the heartwarming stories of ordinary people who have had extraordinary connections with Spirit and professional psychics, mediums and clairvoyants who do this work every day.
Dr. Muciaccia is a retired educator; he was an English teacher at Palisades Park High School where he also served as vice-principal. He also taught in the Hoboken Public Schools.
Adult Coloring Club
Tuesday, January 19 at 2 -3 pm                        
  
It's time to kick back, relax and be a kid again! The group is open to anyone who enjoys coloring for relaxation or creative expression. It will meet twice a month, every other Tuesday. The library will provide coloring pages and color pencils but you are welcome to bring your own. How To Create A Traffic Generating Website In Five Steps

Sarit Lotem, an expert website designer, speaker and a certified teacher will present a program titled 'How to create a traffic generating website in five steps'. She specializes in topics for new small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to earn extra money online.
  
This workshop will focus on - Your target market, Guidelines to come up with the best domain name for your business and how to get a hosting service, What's the best platform to use for your website, Your home page must haves and How to generate traffic to your site. 
Youth Advisory Council (YAC)
Monday, January 25, 6:30 - 7:15 pm
  
Young Adult patrons in high school can provide a voice concerning certain library policies and suggestions on programming for middle and high school students. They also conduct surveys among the student population on topics that impact the library's materials collection. The goal of this program is to build leadership skills, civic engagement and pride in community service.

  Philosophy Dialogue
 Wednesday, January 27, 6-7pm & 7-8 pm
  
Marc Hecht, a lay philosopher will moderate two sessions of a new bi-monthly  philosophy group that will meet for informal philosophical discussions on every other Wednesday.
Atlantis: The Lost Continent
Thursday, January 28 at 7 pm
  
Hercules Invictus, the founder of Regional Folklore Society of Northeastern PA and the Center for the Study of Living Myth, NJ presents a panoramic overview of Plato's ancient  account and the lore that has accrued around it over the span of many centuries. 
 
Are some ancient myths  actually Star Maps revealing the secret location of Atlantis?  Is America the New Atlantis? Are we currently undergoing an Atlantean Cycle? Are we the Atlanteans  reincarnated ?   Are Atlantean intelligences from other planes or planets secretly controlling or guiding us? These and many other questions will be addressed.

 Everything that is new and notable at your library
The most recent acquisition made by the library is an Apple laptop. Patron support through book donations to the Better World Drop Boxes and Friends of Cresskill Library Fund Raising efforts has made it possible. Thank You for your support!   

Thu, Feb 18: Cooking Club

Introducing a NEW Club for patrons who love to cook or want to try new recipes. The Club will meet on Third Thursday of every month. Each member can borrow a copy of the selected book, pick a recipe and prepare the dish at home; enough so every member gets to try it. Library will provide paper goods, cutlery and microwave to warm the food. Come, try new cuisines, make friends and have a good time. Bon A ppetit!

MakerSpace at Cresskill Library
To enhance community engagement, to promote and explore new opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovation and hands-on learning, Cresskill Public Library will be creating a new MakerSpace.
  
On Saturday, March 19, 2016, the library will organize events and demonstrations for New Jersey Makers Day. Library is seeking volunteers to help us host the event or to bring in and show off their projects.
  
Please support our efforts to outfit the library with tools, equipment and materials necessary by donating on the YouCaring Website and searching for Cresskill Library.
  
Museum Passes
The Friends of the Cresskill Library have sponsored the purchase of passes for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum AND Museum of the City of New York. With these passes, Cresskill Library card holders are able to gain free access to the museums for another year. Thanks, Friends!.
Friends Raffle
The Friends of the Cresskill Library are continuing their fundraising efforts. Each month, artist and retired special education teacher Ms. Wendy Woda, creates a "zen doodle" piece and donates it to the library. 
  
The cost of a Raffle ticket is $1.00. Raffle drawings are held at the end of the month.
Story Time Registration
 
Monday, January 25
   
3 to 5 year old Cresskill patrons are invited to sign up for Story Time. The group will meet twice a month for approximately 45 minutes on a Wednesday at 1:30 pm. The session includes storytelling, reading and a craft. The first session is on February 10. Registration is required.

Cresskill Public Library is looking for volunteers to lead an Astronomy Club. The Library owns two telescopes. Please call 201-567-3521 for more information.
