INPUT INTO GLOBAL STRATEGY AND ACTION PLAN ON AGEING AND HEALTH

A draft of the Global Strategy and Action Plan on Ageing and Health is now open to public consultation from individuals and institutions. The consultation aims to gather input on suggested goals, strategic objectives, action points, commitments from stakeholders, and indicators to measure progress towards healthy ageing that reaches every person. You may respond to all five survey sections or only to the one(s) related to the strategic objectives you are most interested in and wish to contribute to. Respond as soon as possible so that your comments can be used to develop Draft 1 of the plan which will be discussed in Geneva on October 29-30, 2015.

FEDERAL ELECTION RESOURCES

If your agency is planning to be involved with advocacy during the federal election campaign these resources can help.

The Canadian Revenue Agency has issued an advisory on partisan political activities. Registered charities are prohibited from devoting any of their resources to partisan political activities during an election period. A partisan political activity is one that involves the direct or indirect support of, or opposition to, any political party at any time, whether during an election period or not, or a candidate for public office.

Imagine Canada is hosting a free webinar about their 2015 Federal Election Strategy. Topic include 1) the new Election Hub that showcases the policy issues that charities and nonprofits are advocating for and which keeps people informed of important election developments concerning the sector. 2) activities charities and nonprofits can do during an election period. The webinar is September 16 at 1 p.m.
