The Akiba Fund, the School's Annual Fund, is the cornerstone of Akiba's fundraising efforts. Your annual support allows Akiba to make a difference in the lives of our students. Gifts to the Akiba Fund provide direct funding for education initiatives that tuition alone does not cover. Every dollar of your gift goes directly toward supporting the School's operating needs. Your support is yet another reflection of your belief in the mission and growth of Akiba.
The generosity of our community is vital to the support of Akiba Academy's annual and ongoing needs. Each year generous gifts to the Akiba Fund from the Board of Trustees, parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, and friends make it possible for Akiba Academy to continue its educational mission.
With gratitude,

Sukkot

Chaverim Adventure
The Chaverim children visited their friend's Sukkah this week! Thank you to the Rosenzweigs and Yalovskys for hosting and to all of the parents and grandparents who helped drive and chaperone!
Chesed Project
The middle school Chesed Committee together with students in kindergarten through 5th grade made 170 lunch bags for The Heart House, Hope's Door and Emily's Place. Thank you to Mr. Blashka and Joseph Blashka for delivering and to the Chesed Committee for overseeing this incredible opportunity for a mitzvah during Chol Hamoed of Sukkot.

PTO Wants You to Know

Box Tops 4 Education
Please send in the Box Tops you find on specially marked packages. There will be collection boxes at the security desk and with all teachers. Each box is worth 10 cents! So far this year we have collected at least $86.00 in Box Tops. They add up when we all collect.

Mitzvah of the Month
During Sukkot we move into temporary structures to celebrate. For our October project, we will focus on those who do not have the security and shelter we are so fortunate to have. The family place helps women and families start new lives and Akiba is participating in their "starter kit" drive. We would like every family to donate a new household item so that families who are starting over have the basic necessities they need to set up a home. We will have collection bins in the lower and middle schools for you to leave items such as linens (bedding, towels) and kitchen gadgets. Next time you find yourself at Tom Thumb, you can stop in their kitchen gadget section and easily pick up something while doing your grocery shopping. At the end of the month we will have a time for those who want to come and help sort the items and prepare them for delivery. (Gently used items will also be taken for donation to their resale shop).

General Meeting
PTO October Meeting will be Monday 10/12 at 8:30am in Pollman Hall. Coffee will be served. We will be voting on the proposed bylaw changes. We hope to see you there!
