Happy Thanksgiving!
We asked the SMBA Board, what are you thankful for?

Mark McQueary: I am thankful for an encouraging, collaborative community, which understood the educational value in bringing to Springfield “Magna Carta: Enduring Legacy 1215-2015.”  This project was fully embraced by our community partners, funded through the SMB Foundation with the generous underwriting of a few law firms and private individuals, with the result that some 4000 members of our community were able to learn about Magna Carta, the rule of law, and our own constitutional history.  The next big Magna Carta celebration will be in another 100 years – in  2115.  Think we should start planning now?  Thank you lawyers!  I am so proud of us!

Matthew Growcock: The wonderful amazing crazy hectic exhausting daily adventure that comes with three kids and two practicing attorneys.

Jim Tucker: I’m thankful for a cool summer and a gorgeous colorful full in these peaceful Ozark hills.

Ginger Gooch: I am thankful for health, family, and desserts of all kinds.

Rob Palmer: I am thankful for family and friends and enjoying them both with good wine.

Crista Hogan: I am thankful for a World Series victory.  Let's Go Royals!

Congratulations to Joseph Essman and Lane Burdette, both students at Central High School, winners of the Springfield Bar’s social media contest. ( more about the contest ) Essman composed a short essay which he read at the lunch and is  linked here .
