Martini Now Open in Center Core

Stylish New Bar Offers Craft Cocktails, Delectable Dishes, Open Seating

A blue oasis, the 1,000 sq. ft. upscale bar, Martini, located in the center of the Airside Terminal, seats 50 and showcases classic libations alongside a variety of dishes seasoned with Pittsburgh flair.

Martini specializes in delicious cocktails, house-infused liquors and signature martinis. The house drink, "Blue Sky," tempts travelers with a mixture of Absolut Citron vodka, blue CuraƧao, a touch of sours and a splash of Sprite, topped off with a zesty lemon garnish.

In addition to drinks, Martini's menu is made for travelers on the go. Flat breads, soups and salads, and plates ranging from Buffalo wings and sliders to a charcuterie board are featured. Items like the "Pittsburgh Chips" and "The Burgh" salad offer a taste of the city to welcome both returning and new visitors.

Martini opens at 8 a.m. daily and closes at 8 p.m. on Sundays through Fridays and at 7 p.m. on Saturdays.

Arrive Early at Airport after Steelers Home Games

Loyal Steelers Fans Fill Checkpoint Lines

It's no secret that Pittsburgh Steelers fans are some of the most loyal and well-traveled in the country.

No where is that more apparent than at Pittsburgh International Airport on mornings following home games. We love seeing folks sporting their black and gold!

The TSA advises travelers to allow extra time when flying out on the morning after a home sporting event because lines tend to be longer, and depending on a win or loss, the mood a little more or less jovial.

As we enter the busy holiday travel season, we remind travelers to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your departure time and to review rules for items allowed in carry-ons. Terrible towels are fine; souvenir pocket knives, baseball bats and hockey sticks are not.

As we cheer on the Pirates in the Wild Card game tonight, be also aware that Thursday morning traffic in the airport may be heavier than usual with all those sad Cubs fans departing.

As always, we appreciate your patience, and we thank you for flying and supporting our amazing sports traditions here in Pittsburgh!
Time to Update Passport, Sign Up for Global Entry

Sign up for TSA PreCheck, Global Entry at Pittsburgh International Airport

If you don't have an up-to-date passport, TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, now is the time to sign up-unless you love hanging out in lines of all kinds. Some changes on the horizon are likely to make flying more frustrating, but having the right tools could help prevent delays and headaches.

TSA PreCheck lines, which are meant to speed passengers through security, are now only accessible to travelers who have paid $85 and completed the application process. The TSA had been filtering "low-risk" non-members into these lines, but you can no longer rely on luck to get out of removing your shoes and belt.

A record 68.3 million Americans traveled abroad in 2014, a 10 percent increase over 2013, according to the U.S. National Travel and Tourism Office. More flyers equal longer lines at immigration and customs, which is why it may be a good idea to have Global Entry, which lets you skip those queues when returning to the U.S. (and comes with PreCheck status).

Pittsburgh Makes Top 10 List of Millennial-Friendly Cities

Millennials Dominating Housing Market in Pittsburgh, Other U.S. Cities

Roughly 60 percent of borrowers who used a mortgage to buy a home in Iowa's capital city during the first half of 2015 were aged 25 to 34, according to data from Realtor.com. That compares with a national average of 37 percent, and makes Des Moines the most millennial-friendly city in the U.S., with Pittsburgh coming in at number four.

What's attracting these young ones? Most of the cities have a low cost of living and turn out to be  a little hipper than they get credit for. That makes a difference as young homebuyers finally shake off the effects of the recession and enter the housing market.
