What is Streets Alive! ?
City favorite - free outdoor fun

Streets Alive! is a FREE outdoor movement festival.

A two mile stretch of the city will be closed to motorized vehicles and open to all human powered travel.  So you can walk, run, stroll, skate, bike, or even dance your way along a traffic-free route!

What will be there?
Information, food, fitness, music, dance 
The str eets will be lined with: 
  • fun, interactive health and wellness exhibits
  • music you can sing and dance along with,
  • fitness demonstrations that you can join in on - anything from Zumba to martial arts, and
  • food trucks and farmers' markets with fresh and delicious produce.
Who can come?
Family, pet, kid, wheelchair friendly
Everyone is welcome! 
We encourage anyone who can walk, ride a bike, propel a wheelchair or push a stroller to get out and enjoy the event anytime between 1pm and 5pm. You can join anywhere along the 2 mile route.

Exhibitor Tables

As an exhibitor in this year's event, your will have a one-on-one outreach opportunity to provide information about your organization and its mission and the resources you offer. All exhibits should be interactive and engage participants to learn and have fun! 

           Sign-up today to participate at this year's event. 

 

Fitness Demonstrations, Classes

The mission of Streets Alive! aims to promote physical activity for all!  We will have five fitness sites: (1) City Impact (2) Idylwild Park (3) Peter Pan Park (4) N.29th & Starr St. and (5) Idylwild Drive & Starr St.

 

If your organization has a fitness discipline and you are interested in teaching a class, we invite you to sign-up for a time slot at one of the two fitness sites.  

 

To maintain your organization's information table during your class time, let us know if you will need a volunteer to staff it during your activity.  

*Fitness stage interest can be indicated within the online exhibitor application or by email.

 

 

Entertainment Sites

Sing, dance, do magic tricks, make balloon animals, do puppet shows - a variety of entertainers are encouraged to participate! Garage bands or any wholesome entertainment is welcome.  The designated sites along the route include: (1) Peter Pan Park (2) Clinton Elementary (3) Idlywild Park.  Come energize the crowd as they make their way along the route.

Info Booths

There will be 5 information booths around the route.  These will be "hub" sites with information to aid exhibitors, entertainers, volunteers, and attendees.   Look for the canopies at these locations for assistance throughout the event.

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, wellness, and fitness of Lincoln's children, families, and seniors.  

We work to improve wellness policies, conduct community level health research, and collaborate with community partners to promote healthy food and beverage choices, increase fitness, and decrease obesity related chronic diseases.
