About Us

Great news for out-of-state licensed providers - YOU CAN JOIN the OAFC medical team!!!  The Wisconsin Volunteer Health Care Provider program provides free liability malpractice insurance coverage for licensed volunteers. Without this program, we would never have the generous service providers caring for our people enrolled in free clinics.

Previously, we understood providers needed to carry Wisconsin licenses, but now the program has expanded to out-of-state providers who wish to donate services within Wisconsin.  Providers must be in good standing and donated services must be within the scope of their licenses.

For all those who are considering retirement and settling in or nearby beautiful Walworth County - YOU CAN JOIN OUR COMMUNITY OF COMPASSIONATE CARE PROVIDERS. Just hang onto your professional licenses!

Cooking Matters

Open Arms Free Clinic is partnering with Elkhorn High School students to lead Cooking Matters at the Store tours in Walworth County. Cooking Matters at the Store is part of the No Kid Hungry campaign that empowers families to stretch their food budgets so their children and families can get healthy food at home. This is especially important for patients at OAFC who are living with diabetes and hypertension and could benefit from the guidance of nutritional food choices on a budget.

Tours will take place at local grocery stores and focus on teaching participants how to read food nutrition labels, compare unit prices, find whole grain foods, and identify the different ways to purchase produce. Participation is free and participants will leave with a reusable grocery bag, a booklet with recipes and shopping tips, and feeling more comfortable navigating the grocery store and buying healthy foods on a budget! Tours will be led in English and Spanish.  Contact OAFC for more information at [email protected] or 262-379-1401.
