The Oklahoma Art Guild (OAG) is a non-profit organization founded in 1954, with the objective of creating, promoting and developing all forms of the visual arts.  The membership includes professionals, amateurs, art enthusiasts and patrons of the visual arts.

"Telling Your Story Through Art" with Suzanne Henthorn

"Telling Your Story Through Art" is how Suzanne Henthorn was able to step back from the chaos of her life and realize she was able to overcome and progress toward better mental, emotional, and physical health. She would like to share her story with you and get you started on your own visual story journey. Suzanne uses objects like toys, animals, and children as symbols to represent her story. What can you use to represent your psychological self rather than a physical representation? By telling your story, Suzanne believes you can better appreciate what you have, or even what you may have lost. Suzanne also believes that when you can commit to telling your story visually, you can connect with the viewing audience and their response. This only happens when the artist is invested in, and dedicated to, their own stories.   
Suzanne Henthorn is an artist who is continually struggling to balance life while dealing with mental health issues, but wants to be an example that a meaningful life is always possible. She works in acrylic, paper clay sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking. Suzanne is the most recent recipient of the Paseo FEAST award, and long term member of the Oklahoma Art Guild and a constant exhibiting artist at Brayer & Brush.
