News & Notes - November 2015
The holiday season is nearly here (and #GivingTuesday is fast approaching!) but at Women In Transition, we're still waiting for a PA state budget to pass.

Domestic violence and substance abuse don't stop to wait for a budget.

At WIT, we're stretching every dollar to keep our doors open and continue to provide our lifesaving services to the women who need counseling, support and advocacy in courts and shelters.

Budget or no budget, WIT strives to be there for the women in the community who need our support.

But now we need yours.

Call your state representative today for urgent action, and please, support WIT today to make a direct and immediate impact on our services.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS CHRISTMAS:
ADOPT A FAMILY
W IT' s Ado pt-A-Family program directly matches donors with families in n eed during the holiday season.

Unique among other holiday giving programs, WIT's Adopt-A-Family encourages donors to give gift cards to select stores, such as food markets, chosen by the clients. This empowers women to shop for themselves and their families, especially if they need basic necessities rather than an armful of presents.  Last year, Adopt-A-Family donors made a difference for 54 families, including 133 children!

For interested participants, Donor Agreements (pdf) must be signed and returned to WIT by Tuesday, 12/1.
