We're going through the motions, trying to get to the end of the year...another year coming upon us.  Where did the time go...did we get closer to where we want to be? Are you looking ahead? Probably 90% of the business owners I talk to say they know they're not spending enough time, if any, on strategic, visionary, entrepreneurial actions for the business.  It's easy to get pulled into the day to day, and actually, we're comfortable there.  The question is, if you're not doing it (strategy, vision, big thinking)....who is?  And if your employees see that you're not...what are they doing?  If you're day to day, they will be too.

Strategic Planning does not have to be overwhelming. (That's why I'm here).  There's a process to it, and there are many but here's a version from Michael Wilkinson I like to use:
1. Start with the roots of your Vision (We are X.....),
2. Followed by your Mission (We will be X because we will do Y....),
3. List your Goals (in order to) accomplish Y (we will do A,B,C,D,Z...)
4. We then break down each goal into our objectives, assess the barriers, define what means success, and name strategies.
5.   This creates the action plan.

Granted, there's a lot of vetting, and it takes time (again, why I'm here), but you get results. If you're going through the motions anyway, let's make them meaningful! If you want to change up (or start) your strategic or quarterly planning meetings, I'm looking to add one new client, so please keep me in mind!
