Holiday Giftalong:
Knitter's Choice!

We're putting two projects in our giftalong queue this season. Choice is good!

Jet Setter is a great way to motor--or jet!--your way through your holiday gift list. It's a quick knit on big needles, and makes great use of a skein of Freia Yarns' Super Bulky. Rachel made a sample for the shop, and we timed her at an hour! All in all, a peppy and wearable accessory for anyone on your list. Or yourself. That goes without sayng.

Just one problem here: we want to knit this hat in every bulky yarn we carry. We love the modern profile (slouchy or no, you choose!) and the cozy cables on this winter gem. Optional extras like short rows and buttons make it adaptable to any knitter. Do we have you?

We have samples already knit up for both these projects--and we're ready to cast on again! Come in to check colors, grab needles, and knit with us.
Told you we'd get you through your gift list!
We Cannot Resist Color. Or Braids.
Do these happy bundles make  you as happy as they make us? Our friends at The Alpaca Yarn Co. have combined two yarns, custom dyed to knit together or alternately, sweetly braided for a great effect. The yarns are Mariquita, a silky-smooth alpaca/tencel blend with great drape and sheen, and Halo, a light and lofty alpaca laceweight.  We're loving dreaming up patterns for these bundles (how 'bout this? Or this? ) Whether you're knitting the gift or gifting the knitter, these are a great "grab and go" option for this knitting season. Each braid contains over 900 yards of hand-dyed pleasure, and sells for $50.
We Love Fringe Supply Co.
The knitting world is full of places where exquisite meets useful--and this set of stitch markers is a perfect example. Natural, vegetable-tanned leather will age in time to a beautiful, burnished brown. Brass stitch markers live inside, in a neat, folded triangle.  A secure brass closure keeps everything in its place. And the whole set comes in a neat muslin bag, ready for giving. Another brilliant idea for the knitter in your life--or for you! Priced at $28 for the set.
Atenti Bags--Yeeeeehaw!
Fun prints (can you see the mock horsehide on the inside?), plenty of pockets, a nice flat bottom for standing tall next to your favorite knitting chair. We think Atenti makes the perfect knitter's project bag. We have plenty of fabrics and colors to choose from. One for you, one for the knitter in your life. That's the way the holidays work, right? Two sizes, priced at $68 or $72.
Cute-In-A-Box: Royal Petit Knit Kits
There are six of these sweeties to choose from: six tiny softies, packaged in a beautiful gift box for the holidays. Each kit comes with everything you need to finish the project, from yarn, to lightweight poly filling, eyes, embroidery floss for details, and weighted beads so your little treasure will sit securely. Each baby animal even comes with his or her own story; can you tell that this little girl is Lisette, the baby lion? You'll see the full selection up at the top of this newsletter; we have them all, and they're all priced at $40. How can you resist?
Holiday Knit Kit: Tosh Unicorn Tails!
It's a cowl, a scarf, a stunning accent piece, and a perfect gift for a knitter. It's thirty mini-skeins of Madeline Tosh Unicorn Tails--a squooshy-soft superwash merino in Tosh's signature shades--artfully combined in a dreamy set. We've bundled Unicorn Tails for giving, on a sweet wooden embroidery hoop, ready to knit. Pick up a full bundle or we'll help you put together a custom combination in the palette of your choice. A thirty-skein bundle, complete with pattern, is $140.
Mrs. Crosby Loves To Play!
Mrs. Crosby, our favorite knitting superhero, has traveled the globe to bring you her favorite fibers in a range of luscious colors. Hat Box is a homage to her latest voyage, a luscious blend of merino, silk and cashmere in a versatile sport weight. We have a range of multis and semi-solids in stock. The color you see at left is African Grey, a beautiful soft grey with infusions of pink tones (it's also another view of Newsom, a beautiful Bristol Ivy design that uses 5 skeins.)   Hat Box comes 317 yds/100 gms, and sells for $27.
One and Done: Freia Super Bulky
This yarn is so beautiful in the skein, you almost want to leave it there! Never fear, though: we've used it in our KAL this month, so you'll have plenty of motivation to get started. It's a beautiful gradient, in all sorts of colors, quick to knit on a size 15-17 needle. Grab a few, because you'll be getting requests! Freia Super Bulky comes 87 yds/skein, and sells for $34.
Quince & Co. Trunk Show Coming!
You've probably heard from us how taken we are with Quince & Co.'s luscious, beautifully-dyed yarns. After all, we carry nearly all of 'em! So we are the first to grab a chance to see how designers work with these yarn--in this case, Elizabeth Doherty in her mind-opening new collection Top Down. These six sweaters feature a completely new way to knit seamless, top-down set-in sleeves. They're gorgeous designs, beautifully tailored, with couture fit and construction. And you can do it! Come see Elizabeth's work, up close and personal, November 30th-December 14th. See you at the shop!
