Meet Gary
Gary Piantek has been a machine operator in our shop for almost 30 years. Because almost every piece of cabinetry (including plywood, mouldings, face frames, refacing stock,and doors) runs through his sander each day, Gary has acquired an extraordinary talent for getting the materials out on time and to the highest standards. Gary's hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the machine is what makes him an exceptional addition to the Valley Custom Door team. Referring to the sanding machine as "almost like my baby," Gary knows the sander he works on just as much, or maybe even better than, the maintenance crew. His ability to predict which phase of belt wear is most desirable for each piece allows him to prioritize jobs for the highest efficiency and quality. When asked why, after almost three decades, he still enjoys coming to work each day, Gary says, "It's the people. I work for great people and with great people at Valley Custom Door."
