On January 19th, join us in the Student Life Centre at 8 p.m. for an evening with Sabrina Jalees!

Once on MTV's Video on Trial, Sabrina has expanded her career to her own stand-up act. Opening for big-time comedian Russell Peters, Sabrina never fails to draw laughter with her shoot-from-the-hip style. Through her comedy, Sabrina tells her story of transitioning from a shy ethnic girl in a predominantly white neighbourhood to embracing her half Pakistani and half Swiss heritage. With her sincerity and wit, she relays the message that when you own and embrace your individuality by being loud and proud, you unlock the transformation from "embarrassed" to "empowered".
