NY STEAM Announcing New Round of Mini-Grants

Through support from the National Girls Collaborative Project, NY STEAM Girls Collaborative is now offering Mini-Grants to support STEAM outreach projects in New York. Mini-Grants provide up to $1,000 to support collaborative projects among NGCP Program Directory organizations.

Mini-grants are awarded to girl-serving science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) focused programs to support collaboration, address gaps and overlaps in service, and share exemplary practices. Mini-grants are a small amount of seed funding and are not intended to fully fund entire projects.

Preference is given to mini-grant projects that are innovative and involve a collaboration between two programs or organizations that have not collaborated together previously.

  • Involve a collaboration between at least two programs from different organizations.
  • Include programs/organizations that are registered in the NGCPProgram Directory (enter your program today!).
  • Identify the lead program/organization.
  • Serve an audience located in New York.
  • Include a multi-day project.
To apply:
Please visit the  NGCP Mini-Grants webpage (application process opens May 5th) and complete the online application by
June 5, 2015 at 5 pm.

To apply for a mini-grant, you must have a program registered in the NGCP
Program Directory to use as your lead program.

If you do not have a program registered, you must first  register a program so it may be selected as your lead program.  Go to  NGCP Mini-Grants webpage to create
a login ID and add your program, then you may create an application.

Decisions will be announced on June 25, 2015.

The FabFems Directory now has over 500 women signed up, and we're growing internationally as well! These women are ready to get out there and be role models for youth in your community. Please visit the directory and familiarize yourself with FabFems in your area so that when you hear about role model/mentor needs from programs you can connect them with your FabFems! If there aren't any FabFems in your area, utilize the resources in theFabFems Toolkit to outreach and invite STEM professionals to join!
