As another year is drawing to an end, we celebrate the first anniversary of our artist's feature and newsletter. Its a great privilege to be working with so many amazing artists and we thank you for continuing to read and support our monthly emails. Don't forget too to follow us on social media.
Having returned from a hugely enjoyable visit to Abu Dhabi Art last month, I am now looking forward to returning to the region to talk on 9 December 2015 at the MIA in Doha on the work of Shadi Ghadirian. Please do come along.
Lastly, we feature this month the work of Yemeni artist, Nasser Al Aswadi. Nasser's canvases can be read on many different levels, whether it be calligraphic or abstract or allusory and we invite you to enter his world.
With all best wishes from the JRFA Team.

Testimonial
'Working across calligraphy in his paintings, Al-Aswadi finds words on his canvas a way to express feelings, emotions and thoughts without being linked to the language. He deals with a combination of letters, words and shapes in a very personal way in regards to their meanings, references and religious symbols. The blossoming patterns between these shapes have created a profound impact on the artist and have given him a chance to experience his unlimited desire to create.'
