Events
Book Fair and Ice Cream Social
The Fall Scholastic Book Fair was a great success. For three days, East School readers of all ages enjoyed the  theme,  "Monster Book Fair: Reading Is So  Much Fun, You'll Get GOOSEBUMPS," and supported the 5th Grade Ice Cream Social fundraiser.

Bingo Night
The annual PTO Event, BINGO Night, was a blast.  East School students and siblings enjoyed 6 rounds of BINGO, awesome prizes and pizza.  All proceeds from the event help pay for the 5th grade yearbook, class trip and graduation ceremony.

Family Fun Run
It was a cold and breezy morning, but that didn't stop runners and spectators from East, Foster and South Elementary Schools from coming out for the Hingham Fall Family Run to support their PTOs.
What's New at East?
Hydration Station

Thank you East School Class of 2015! Look for the new hydration station, which was given as a class gift by the 2015 Fifth Grade Class, and has been installed by the gymnasium. The hydration station is designed to fill water bottles, so if you need one, "East" water bottles are for sale in the front office.

PTO Appeal Prizes Awarded
Pancakes with Mr. Keady and Mrs. Case
Students whose families have donated to the PTO Appeal were entered into another raffle and one student from each grade was awarded Pancakes with Mr. Keady and Mrs. Case.  The next (and final) drawing will take place at the All School Meeting on December 18. Donations need to be submitted by 3pm on December 17 to be included in the drawing.  The final prizes include a Popsicle party for the top participating class in each grade, and one block of extra recess for the top participating grade!

Getting To Know . . .
Jen Walsh (Second Grade Teacher)
Q:  What do you enjoy most about teaching?
A:   What I love most about teaching is that everyday brings something different.  I really enjoy the challenge of thinking in new ways in order to meet the needs of all of my students.  It is also very rewarding to see the pride my students feel in their accomplishments!

Q:  If you weren't teaching, what would you like to be doing?
A:   If I wasn't teaching, I would like to be
traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

Q:   What is the best gift you have ever been given?
A:    The best gifts I have ever been given are my two healthy children, John and Audrey.

Q:  What is your favorite movie?

A:
I have many favorite movies, but one of them is "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler. It's funny and sweet, and it's loaded with 80's music!
