BOY OH BOY!!

Being born a boy in other cultures can often give a child higher status. However, if a boy becomes an orphan, it makes it that much more difficult to be chosen by a family for adoption.

In China alone, there are almost 1900 children are on the list of waiting children. Approximately 1500 are boys!

Amy Eldridge, the Executive Director of Love Without Boundaries shares her thoughts on this issue:

NOVEMBER IS ADOPTION AWARENESS MONTH

Each year, the President of the United States issues a proclamation that sets aside November as National Adoption Month. In addition to the Presidential proclamation, many State governors also issue proclamations in an effort to raise awareness of the need for loving and permanent homes for children in their states.

"This month, we celebrate adopted children, teenagers, and their diverse families. We work to give more young people permanent families and promising futures. And we encourage our friends and neighbors to open their hearts and their homes to children in need."

National Adoption Awareness Month is a great time for you to get involved in the effort to make a difference in the lives of children from all across the country.
