Madison Adoption Associates has been granted permission by the Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB) in the Philippines to place a limited number of "healthy" children.

ICAB gives preference to families who are Filipino-American. Adoptive parents who are not Filipino-Americans will wait longer for a referral. The referrals of healthy children who are toddler-age typically occur 18 months to 3 years after ICAB receives and approves a family's dossier.

Families who wish to adopt through this program must meet all of the requirements for a Philippine adoption; no waivers will be approved by ICAB. Single women are not permitted to adopt a child in this program.

Madison Adoption Associates goes to China!

Madison Adoption Associates is preparing for their first trip to China for 2014. Five staff members will be leaving on March 9 and visiting several orphanages and civil affairs offices. MAA's China coordinators, Ming and Richard, will be joining the staff for different portions of the trip. Their stops will include Anhui, Harbin, Guangzhou, Gaozhou, Dianbi, Huadu, Shenzhen, Longgang, and Baoan. They look forward to meeting lots of children who may be available for adoption, and meeting with adoption officials to find out how MAA can assist the orphanages to better care for the children.

The MAA staff will return home on March 20. We wish them a safe and productive trip!
