Madison Adoption Associates Hits a Milestone with 81 Waiting Children
It's not a goal we were trying to reach but when MAA recently received the referrals of 27 waiting children in one day, our advocacy list hit an all-time high! This list was the result of our partnerships with 13 different orphanages in China, and our untiring search for children who are waiting on the "Shared List" who need a chance to have their story told.
MAA has quickly matched many of these children and we will continue to search for the best possible family for each and every one of these children.
We want this number to be LOWER!! Help us reduce our number of Waiting Children - we would love to have ZERO children waiting for a family!
Our biggest challenge is not the fact that we have so many children on our agency list... it is having families who will go through the adoption steps to submit a dossier to China so that they can be available for the non-Special Focus (LID) children who are assigned to MAA's Individual List.
Children who are designated as non-Special Focus are younger children - generally under the age of 3 years - who have minor or correctable medical conditions.
We understand that many adoptive families want to find the child that they wish to adopt before beginning the adoption journey. However, if your family would be a good home a younger child with minor special needs, we welcome you to become a LID family with MAA.
Many babies with minor special needs coming to MAA's Individual List! Families must submit a dossier to be eligible for these little ones!!

MAA awards adoption grants through Brittany's Hope Foundation. This is a matching grant awarded to families who have been matched with a child but have not traveled yet.
