It's that time again - the time to renew your membership or consider joining the VEC for the coming year. Let us tell you a bit about some of VEC's accomplishments during 2015. VEC is proud not only of the work it does, but of its continuing efforts to collaborate with Vermont businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions.

With member support, this year VEC:
  • Held VEC Annual Legislative Breakfast in Montpelier in February to help kick off the conversation about green jobs and the environmental business sector during the legislative session.
  • Continued to maintain the Vermont Green Careers Website, funded by the State of Vermont Department of Labor (DOL), providing information on starting or finding a career in the environmental business sector in Vermont (www.vermontgreencareers.org).
  • Exhibited at the Vermont Rural Water Association's Annual Conference and Trade Show in May in Fairlee to update attendees on what VEC was currently working on.
  • Held the 4th Annual Water Quality Conference: Learning from Other Successes in May in Randolph at Vermont Technical College where we examined some of the organizational structures and innovative approaches that have succeeded and might be applied to improvement of water quality.
  • Worked with VT Department of Environmental Conservation regarding Urban Soil Management practices in Vermont.
  • Sponsored and exhibited at the White + Burke 2nd Annual Vermont Development Conference in November.
  • Continued to provide the latest member information through Facebook, our member VEC website at www.vectogether.org, e-newsletter, and through LinkedIn.
Also, we want to let you know about a change in our Board of Directors. Jill Michaels of Community Investments, and VEC Board president for 7 years, has decided to step down from her position. We thank her tremendously for her dedicated service to the VEC and that she will remain on the VEC board to continue serving.
