Monthly News & Updates

We keep learning about arts and cultural activities in the area, but want to learn more from you, so please let us know if you have something creative planned so we can share the news!

Please send us info on what's happening culturally around town and tell us how we can make Hightstown better through the arts.

The Arts are "Popping Up" in November

We had a blast at the Harvest Fair and thank all who stopped by to either sign up for enews, work on the mosaic panels, watch portrait artist David Rivera at work, Ceramist Adam Welch at the potters wheel, or just talk about art and what kind of activities they'd like to see or hear around town.

The winners of the Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission giveaways are:
  • Marcia Kashmar, McCarter theater series tickets
  • Jane Davis, Jerry's Artarama $25 gift card
  • Tracy Healy, 12 Farms $25 gift card
  • Kate Saik, gift bag with art books
  • Dee Sparacio, gift bag with art books
Congratulations! Look for your prizes in the mail or will we contact you to deliver the gift bags.

Pop Up Gallery Coming on Main St!

The Hightstown Cultural Arts Commission is planning a "Pop Up" Art Gallery at 118 Main Street (formerly Buen Gusto Restaurant) featuring "home grown" talent including Barbara DiLorenzo, Frank Rivera, Heather Lisk and Adam Welch.

The exhibit will run from November 13- 21.  Please support our local artists and join in the fun! An opening reception is planned for Friday, Nov. 13 from 6-8 pm with musical entertainment provided by the Woe Nellies, a ukelele quartet.

This is an opportunity for a currently unused store to find another temporary life and we thank Peddie School for letting the Commission use the building for this purpose.

Gallery 33 Grand Opening

The Grand Opening of Gallery 33 at Comisky's showroom will take place on Saturday, November 14. You will find a really diverse array of Jersey made art and gourmet treats along with gift plants and antique finds.  The greenhouse will be decked out with pointsettias for the holiday, too!

Paul Mordetsky Exhibit at 12 Farms

The stunning work of Paul Mordetsky is on exhibit at 12 Farms Gallery until November 22.  Be sure to visit, enjoy the art and the delicious farm to table offerings of 12 Farms.

Don't forget, the kitchen at 12 Farms may be closed on Mondays, but Creative Mondays happen in the evenings with figure drawing, art salon, writers' critique, and sharing the process.  There's always a pot of the best coffee you've ever tasted ready for all who drop by.
